Johanna Gretschel is a writer, producer and creative strategist in Austin, Texas.

Hi! I’m a marketing professional working for GALE, where I work cross-functionally on the social team to support clients including Team Milk (MilkPEP). Last year, we produced the inaugural Every Woman’s Marathon — a beginner-friendly race for women, by women boasting a sold out field of 7,000 registrants including 40% first-time marathoners.

As a former NCAA Division I track and field athlete, supporting and uplifting women athletes has always been my north star. In my first life as a journalist, I covered women’s and Olympic sports as well as entertainment and culture for publications including SELF, Runner’s World, Women’s Running, Outside, World Athletics, Austin American-Statesman and Austin360, to name a few.

I’ve also produced documentary features and appeared as the sideline reporter and color analyst on live broadcasts of the Big 12 Conference Championships, American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships, NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, Penn Relays and more for ESPN+, FloTrack and MileSplit.
